Past Events Supporting Mental Health in Nanaimo

May/2003- Empire Day Parade. Friends decorated a float and entered it into the May Day Parade. This float won "Best Non-Commercial Float".

July/2003- Artisan's Street Fair. A display of painted rocks were sold as well as raffle tickets that could win one of Denise McNeill's paintings.

March/2004- OMOW contributed and partook in the 8th Annual Psychology Conference at Malaspina College University.

Multiple baseball games with Friends and OMOW board of Directors vs. RCMP, the Clippers etc.

2003- CD Release Party. Many were in attendance at the Nanaimo Art Center to support the CD that we released. The CD is a compilation of local artists who donated their songs, as well as a track written and performed by our Friends at the Wednesday Day Program.

January 16,2004- It Only Takes a Moment Benefit Concert- The Port Theatre. Many local musicians and performers donated their time, song and dance to raise money and awareness for reducing the stigmas associated to mental health.
